Birthday Party Venues in Asansol – My Personal Recommendations (2026 Guide)

By Isha · 23 July 2026

Planning a birthday party is exciting, but choosing the right venue is just as important as choosing the cake. Over the years, I've spoken with many customers while designing cakes for their celebrations, and I've personally celebrated at a couple of places that I genuinely enjoyed. Here are my recommendations to help you plan a memorable birthday in Asansol.

My personal recommendations

Chula Chuka ⭐ My Personal Favourite

If you're celebrating with close friends or family, Chula Chuka is my personal favourite. I've personally had a great experience there and really enjoy the food and ambience. It's a cozy place for intimate birthday celebrations.

Awadh Restaurant

Awadh Restaurant is another excellent choice for birthday lunches and dinners with family and friends. It offers a comfortable dining experience and is suitable for medium-sized celebrations.

The Grand, Asansol

For larger birthday parties, engagements, family gatherings, or corporate celebrations, The Grand is one of the city's most popular venues with banquet facilities suitable for larger groups.

Celebrating at home instead

Plenty of my customers skip the restaurant altogether, and honestly a home celebration is often warmer. It also gives you complete freedom over the cake — size, flavour, a tall tiered design, or a dessert table with cupcakes, pastries and party chocolates alongside the main cake. If you're hosting at home in summer, keep the cake refrigerated until the cutting; my summer cake care guide covers the details.

Questions worth asking any venue

Whichever place you choose, these five questions save most of the last-minute stress:

  • Is there a cake-cutting or corkage charge for an outside cake?
  • Can my baker deliver directly, and who will receive the cake?
  • Is there fridge space to hold a cream cake until the cutting?
  • How early can we arrive to decorate?
  • Is there a minimum spend or advance booking amount?

Choosing the right cake size

Your cake should match your guest count.

  • 500g – Serves 4–6 people
  • 1kg – Serves 8–10 people
  • 2kg – Serves 16–20 people

If your venue allows outside cakes, try to schedule delivery close to the cake-cutting time so your cake stays fresh and looks its best.

Match your cake to your celebration

Every celebration is different.

For café celebrations with a few close friends, a Bento Cake or Half Pound Cake is usually enough.

For family dinners, a 1 Pound Cake is the most popular choice.

For banquet halls and larger birthday parties, I usually recommend a 2 Pound Cake or larger so everyone gets a generous slice.

If you're unsure which size is right, just tell me your guest count and I'll happily recommend the best option. The Asansol cake price guide has the full list of sizes and starting prices, and choosing the best birthday cake walks through flavours and themes.

A simple planning timeline

  • 1–2 weeks before: shortlist the venue, confirm the cake policy and book the table
  • 4–7 days before: confirm guest count, and book a tiered cake if you want one
  • 48 hours before: place the cake order with your theme and message
  • On the day: schedule cake delivery close to the cutting time, and keep it cool until then

Complete your celebration with a custom cake

At Sweet Bloom Bakery, every cake is baked fresh to order in Asansol and is 100% eggless. Whether you're celebrating at Chula Chuka, Awadh Restaurant, Rooftop Café, The Grand, or at home, we can customise your cake to match your party theme, favourite colours, or special occasion.

Browse our Birthday Cake Collection or contact us on WhatsApp to discuss your design. We'd love to be a small part of your celebration.

Final thoughts

A beautiful venue creates the atmosphere, but a freshly baked custom cake creates the memory. I hope these recommendations help you plan a wonderful birthday celebration in Asansol.
