Surprise celebrations

Surprises run on short notice, and that shapes what I can bake. A 4-inch bento cake with a handwritten message is the fastest thing out of my kitchen and the reason most midnight surprises, proposals and apology cakes in Asansol are bentos — small, personal, and easy to carry on a scooter without ruining the top.

For a surprise I keep the design simple on purpose: one colour, a short message, maybe a heart or a few pearls. What people remember is the message, not the piping. If you're proposing, tell me and I'll pack the cake so the lid never touches the writing.

I still need about 24 hours for a bento, and the same day is only sometimes possible — message me and I'll tell you honestly whether it fits. For a truly last-minute plan, a box of handmade chocolates with a small cake is often the safer combination.
