Cupcakes solve the problems a cake sometimes creates. Nobody has to cut anything, children can hold their own, and a classroom or an office floor can be served in a minute. A box of eight is ₹150, and I bake them in assorted flavours unless you'd rather have all eight the same.
They're the easiest thing to personalise cheaply: piped swirls in your party colours, sprinkles, a single letter on each cupcake to spell out a name, or one topper per box. For school birthdays I keep the swirls low and firm so they survive a schoolbag; for parties at home I can pipe them tall.
Cupcakes are eggless like everything else here and need the same 24 hours' notice. If you want cupcakes alongside a cake — a small bento to cut and eight cupcakes for the guests — that's one of the most popular combinations I make.
